He was a son of the late Calvin and Dora Cravens and was a retired carpenter. Casket- John Joseph Wordeman, pastor in Ashland, dies HERALDLEADER STAFF REPORT The Rev. John Joseph Wordeman, pastor of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church in Ashland, died Wednesday at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Ashland, after hip surgery. He was 68. The Rev. Wordeman had pastored the church since 1986.

He was a former regional councilor of the Catholic Church's Big River Region and a former College of Consultors member. A Covington native, he was former pastor of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Newport and had held positions at churches in Ludlow, Covington and Fort Mitchell. He also had held positions at Villa Madonna College, Thomas More College and Northern Kentucky University. The Rev.

Wordeman is survived by his mother, Mildred Arthur Wordeman of Covington, and a brother, James Wordeman of Atlanta. Funeral services will be at noon Monday at Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption in Covington. A scripture service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Holy Family Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at 10:45 a.m.

George Cecil Brown, president of Brown Food Service, dies HERALD LEADER STAFF REPORT George Cecil Brown, who worked in his family's Brown Food Service for more than 50 years, died of complications from heart disease and diabetes yesterday at Highlands Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg. He was 71 and lived in Prestonsburg. Mr.

Brown was president of the Louisa firm, which sells food and food service equipment in six states, including Kentucky, and employs more than 100 people. Mr. Brown worked for the company, which was started in Lawrence County about 1939 by his father, the late George Brown, since he was a teen-ager. The company, initially a produce business called Brown Produce was based in Prestonsburg for many Nickell Funeral Home. Visitation 11 a.m.
