Israel-Gaza live updates: Hostage speaks 1st time since release
As the Israel-Hamas war continues, negotiations have stalled to secure the release of hostages taken by the terrorist organization, and Israeli forces continue to launch incursions in the southern Gazan town of Rafah ahead of a possible large-scale invasion. Noa Argamani, one of four hostages rescued during a deadly IDF raid on June 8, released a video thanking Israeli forces for rescuing her and calls for the release of the remaining hostages, including her boyfriend, in her first public remarks since she was released. The U.S. military pier in Gaza will be taken offline again on Friday and moved to the Israeli port of Ashdod due to high seas, according to a U.S. official.

Will Trump stand trial in DC before the election? Experts say it's unlikely, but not impossible
More than six months after a federal judge froze former President Donald Trump's federal election interference case, the Supreme Court is poised to issue a ruling that will guide the trajectory of the case, including whether the former president could stand trial ahead of the 2024 election. The justices are expected to issue a decision on whether a former president is shielded from criminal liability for "official acts" taken while in the White House. Trump is claiming such immunity to try to quash the federal election subversion prosecution brought by special counsel Jack Smith.

Rep. Jamie Raskin: Democrats having 'a serious conversation' following Biden's debate performance
Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md., said Sunday that Democrats are "having a serious conversation" about what to do after President Joe Biden's debate performance -- a contrast to comments from other high-ranking members of the party. "So, this makes it a difficult situation for everybody, but there are very honest and serious and rigorous conversations taking place at every level of our party because it is a political party, and we have differences in point of view." Raskin said that holding dialogue about a candidate is "what a real political party does," and stands in contrast with the process of the Republican party.

DOJ to present Boeing with plea deal that families of 2018, 2019 crash victims say falls short: Lawyers
The Department of Justice is preparing to present the Boeing Company a plea deal that would again allow the aerospace giant to avoid a trial over an alleged conspiracy to defraud the United States, according to attorneys for families of victims of two fatal Boeing 737 Max crashes who were briefed on the department's plans Sunday afternoon. Under the proposed deal, Boeing would be required to enter a guilty plea to the conspiracy charge, which was first filed January 2021, for allegedly misleading the FAA during its evaluation of the Boeing 737 Max aircraft. The company must also agree to the appointment of an external corporate monitor, pay a fine of about $200 million and remain on probation for three years, according to lawyers for the families.

Former White House chief strategist and longtime Trump ally Steve Bannon said he thinks former President Trump will win this November's election by a "landslide." "We have a 100% certainty we could beat [President Joe] Biden and beat him big and take the Senate and pick up seats in the House," Bannon said in an interview Sunday with "This Week" co-anchor Jonathan Karl. Trump campaign memo signals plans to reduce the national GOP platform
Donald Trump's top advisers are planning to overhaul and shorten the Republican Party's platform so that it will be "in line" with the former president's "vision for America's future," according to a memo sent to the party's platform committee that was obtained by ABC News. The memo comes as some more socially conservative RNC members -- along with some anti-abortion groups -- have expressed concern that the platform this cycle might adopt Trump's stance on reproductive rights, which would lift the call for a 20-week federal abortion ban that is part of the current platform's language. Trump has been clear about his opposition to a federal ban and his preference for this issue to be left up to the states.
